The Team

TD Smith
Embarking on his Telluride real estate career in 1971, TD Smith has passionately participated, first in the re-birth and development of historic Telluride, then subsequently in 1981 as a co-founder of Telluride Real Estate Corp. with the Telluride Ski and Golf Company. As a co-owner of the marketing arm of the Telluride mountain village’s master developer, TD had a vital and inceptive influence behind the village’s beginnings, as well as many other regional developments in which he was involved as broker or principal. TD’s excellent reputation in the industry was recently recognized by his peers when the “lifetime achievement award” was bestowed upon him.

Further, that reputation is exemplified in the distinguished, upscale properties and astute clientele he represents. His long-standing business philosophy is to build lasting relationships with his clients by identifying and sharing their desire to be intimately involved in a mountain community, whether for leisure, investment, or both.

TD and his wife Page have been married for over 27 years. Their son Alex, raised in the San Juan Mountains, recently graduated from Pitzer College of the Claremont Consortium of Colleges in Los Angeles. TD and Page reside in the Historic Town of Telluride and over the years have maintained active involvement in numerous facets of the community. TD has held directorships on the boards of the Telluride Alpine Race Team, Mountain Village Metropolitan District, Affordable Housing Task Force, Board of Realtors (first elected president), Sheridan Arts Foundation, Ah Haa School for the Arts, Pinhead Institute and Fair Housing Committee. He is a graduate of Purdue University.

Chris Sommers

A licensed real estate broker with Telluride Real Estate Corporation since 2001, Chris is TD’s senior associate, as well as the co-listing broker for all of their listings. He is skilled and equipped to attend to all buyer-client / seller-client requests when TD is personally unavailable. Essentially, Chris is TD’s right-hand man, making him an integral part in handling the everyday communications that are conducted between brokers and clients. A Kansas native, Chris attended the University of Kansas and Emporia State University. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and is an alumni member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Currently, Chris, his wife Cynthia and 2 year old daughter Lillian live in Historic Telluride and have called Telluride home since 1999. In his free time, Chris enjoys skiing, fly-fishing, golfing, traveling, scuba diving, sailing and, of course, spending time in the mountains.

Jackie Boan

In 1998, Jackie said to her son Brad, “it’s time for a change ~ pick a place, any place ~ in the Caribbean or the US to live”, and with that he chose Telluride, because he wanted to participate in skiing in high school rather than the normal east coast activities! She embarked on her real estate career in 2000 and joined TD and TREC in 2003. Jackie is a licensed broker associate, responsible for designing, scheduling and coordinating all of TD’s advertising and marketing materials for client properties. Photographing and staging the clients’ property is just the beginning. Brochures, postcards, flyers, e-mail announcements, magazine & newspaper ads, open houses and website input all help to ensure a successful marketing campaign for the property. Working with TD and Chris keep Jackie very busy, but in her free time she enjoys hiking, skiing, and travel to warm locales as well as visiting family and friends back on the east coast.
